Union Square, by Adrian Koesters

Regular price $8.00

Union Square, Baltimore, MD, 1952. Koesters picks up the lives of five characters living around the square whose most notable resident was H.L. Mencken. They are poor, even benighted, subject to abuse, violence and neglect. The culture is Irish, modestly Roman Catholic, but the comprehension of beauty and kindness so fleeting that only Koesters' restraint and consummate lyrical skill invites the reader to go below the surfaces--to get outside the square--and find, subtly, redemption and resurrection.

Used. Good condition. Minimal wear and tear. Minor shelf wear to the bottom of the book.
